Thursday's flight covered 975 miles and spent 3 hours, 13 minutes airborne. On Friday, she'll fly from Broomfield to Miami. Leg 2 is planned for 6 hours and 16 minutes, at a planned distance of 1,806 miles. Once her trip is completed, she'll be the youngest woman to circumnavigate the globe in a single-engine plane.

Amelia talks about her trip in this video.

You can follow Amelia's trip via Twitter and the #FlyWithAmelia hashtag, and her flight progress on FlightAware.com, tracking aircraft tail number N58NG.

In addition to Amelia's history-making trip, she is providing scholarships to high school-aged girls who want to take flight lessons. She will be announcing the scholarship winners during her flight. You can donate to the Fly With Amelia Foundation here, or by texting AMELIA to 71777.
